Description

A Morus nigra cultivar whose origin the sources describe as unclear, and whose name has a documented history of being attached to the wrong plant: the M. alba cultivar ‘Dwarf Everbearing’ was for a period regularly sold as ‘Black Beauty’.

That matters more than a mix-up usually would, because M. nigra is a genuinely different proposition from M. alba — different fruit, different flavour, different hardiness. Somebody buying ‘Black Beauty’ for the black mulberry experience and receiving a white mulberry cultivar has not received a near-equivalent.

The record is thin because the honest record is thin. Origin, year and breeder are not recorded, and print as not recorded.

Where to find it

No source recorded. That does not mean the cultivar is unavailable, only that this record does not yet name a nursery carrying it. Point us at one and it goes in.
