The work
The gap between a soil-health paper and a changed practice on a commercial farm is where most of this work fails, and closing it is a discipline of its own. Masters works in that gap.
Integrity Soils, the agroecological education company she founded, runs coaching rather than consulting — the distinction being that the operator is the one who learns to read the ground, rather than paying someone else to read it for them. The programme spans New Zealand and Montana and reaches producers worldwide.
For the Love of Soil is the written form of the same argument: soil biology, mycorrhizal networks, the water and nutrient cycles, and the economic case for reducing synthetic inputs — set out for someone who has to keep a farm solvent while changing how it works.
