Description
The western workhorse, and the sharpest illustration of why a scab rating is a statement about a place.
In the dry southwest it is high-yielding and well regarded. In the humid southeast it has serious scab problems. Same genome, opposite verdict, and a grower who reads a national cultivar list without checking where the trial was run can plant the wrong tree in complete good faith.
That is the caution to carry into every disease rating in this database. Resistance is measured against a particular pathogen population under a particular amount of leaf wetness. Move either one and the number moves with it.
