Description
A natural white-by-red cross found on Richard Wellington’s property in New York, and evaluated at the New York State Fruit Testing station at Geneva — which makes it one of the few mulberries in this file with any institutional assessment behind it at all.
It is sometimes conflated in the trade with a mulberry called ‘New American’. The sources consulted do not establish that the two are the same plant, and the record here does not assert it. Given this genus’s history with names, an unconfirmed synonymy is best left visible rather than tidied away.
