The earliest of the three Franklin County shellbarks, introduced in 1932 and carrying its finder’s given name.
The self-pollinating claim is the line to check before relying on it. Most of this database’s crops are self-incompatible in some way, and a lone-tree claim is exactly the sort of convenient trait that gets repeated through catalogues without anyone rechecking it — the same caution ‘Sunflower’ pawpaw earns in this file.
